For the 2nd year in a row no black actor, actress, or director was nominated for an Oscar in any major category. Am I shocked? No. Did I expect this? Yes. Should black people care? No. This news led to the hashtag #OscarsSoWhite to trend on Twitter.
Stop looking for white approval for acting or for that matter in anything that you do. This is the 2nd year in a row this has occurred so obviously they don’t recognize black actors, actresses, and directors. Why do you expect the Oscars to recognize us? Stop looking for white approval and white validation. Let’s start an award where we award black actors and actresses for being great at their job in the aspect of movies. Build our own, stop looking for white approval, it’s not needed. If the Oscars ignores black people, I could give a hell. It doesn’t matter to me, and it shouldn’t matter to any other black people. Why do expect the Oscars to care about black actors, actressrs, and directors they obviously don’t care now and they never cared to begin with.
