Taraji P. Henson Won, But…

This past Sunday at this year’s Golden Globes, Taraji P. Henson took home the award for Best Actress in a TV Drama. Henson won the award for her role as “Cookie” in the show Empire. She has become only the 3rd black actress to take home the award.

Let me just start by saying that I think Taraji is a great actress and has been deserving of these awards for a long time. “Who knew that playing an ex-convict would take me all around the globe?” I knew that playing an ex-convict would take you all around the globe. Most logical black people, including myself don’t like the show Empire. It pushes the gay agenda, Lee Daniels created the show, and pushes black steroetypes to the fullest degree. Empire makes people comfortable looking at black people and characters, they’re portrayed in a negative and non threatening light. If they characters aren’t gay then they’re ex-convict, a convict, or a rapper. Playing a black ex-convict chatacter on a television show will take you around the world, because sadly that’s what self-hating, ignorant black people want to see, and that’s what racists, white supremacists want to see.
