After The Baltimore Uprising : Youth Jail Being Built

Earlier this year in April, everyone saw witness to the so called “riots” in Baltimore. I tend to call it an uprising not a riot. A month after the riot the state of Maryland approved the building of a 30 million dollar youth jail in Baltimore. State officials decided to build a 30 million dollar youth prison, instead of rebuilding schools for 11 million dollars.

Talk about the school to prison pipe line, well this is exactly that. This detention center or youth prison will hold black bodies because this in Baltimore & we’re criminalized and incarcerated on a high level. This goes along with the theme of less schools being built, more prisons being built. And yes, more prisons being built does include youth prisons.
